A delightful alternative to the typical green basil Genoese pesto, this pest is prepared with red basil which gives this sauce a slight spiciness and a slight cloves aftertaste. It is ideal for seasoning pasta dishes and even rice-based first courses. An excellent dollop for tasty canapés, or addition to cheeses and cold meats.
