Typical Portuguese Terracotta Pottery from Joao Vasc. Vale, Barcelos, Portugal.  This particular piece is a 24cm chourico griller or assador shaped like a pig (porco)

Pour half cup of brandy or suitable alcohol into the base of the assador, and then set alight.  Place deep cuts into the chourico and place on top of the assador. Turn over when crispy and grill further, all in all about 10 minutes.
