It is beautifully balanced wine which complements dishes like roast beef, lamb chops, stews, and steak. The wine is drinking superbly at the moment but can still mature for another 3-5 years.
The grapes came from a single vineyard in Stellenbosch. All the vineyards are trellised. All grapes are harvested by hand in individual bins in optimal conditions to ensure
true quality from beginning to end. In the Cellar, the grapes were naturally fermented. The wine spent a total of 20 months in French oak barrels. All the barrels were 225 L and 300 L. There was a total of 18% new oak used and the remainder comprised of 2nd, 3rd and 4th fill barrels.

Origin of the Name:
"This wines name “The Fox” is named after the current farm owner's great grandfather, Gideon Johannes Joubert. His foresight and dedication in the wine industry made it possible for Usana to produce and present this elegant wine to the world. His nickname was given to him by the fox stamp that was used to mark his fruit when it was delivered to the co-ops."
